The Austrian Mint is located in the heart of Vienna, its current home is in Am Heumarkt, and is responsible for minting all Austrian coins.
Since 1989 it has been a subsidiary of Austria's central bank Oesterreichische Nationalbank, which also currently has its headquarters based in Vienna.
Until 2002 it was only responsible for minting the coins of the Austrian schilling, post 2003 it has been responsible for production of the Austrian euro coins.
